English Butter Ingredients
- 125g unsalted butter
- 2 tbl spoons English mustard
- 2 tbl spoons cheddar cheese
- 1/2 tea spoon white pepper
125g (half block) of unsalted mix until smooth. Add 2 table spoons of English mustard, 3 spoons of grated cheddar cheese. You can use your favorite cheese, it doesn’t have to be cheddar but cheddar works well as it blends perfectly in the spread. Add good pinch – around 1/2 tea spoon of white pepper for extra punch. Put into butter dish or whatever is convenient for you and let it cool down in the fridge allowing flavours to blend.
Perfect ‘English’ butter spread for your sandwiches for lunch, break food, rolls, etc.
Original recipe I got inspired by (CCO) was dated back to 1910 and suggested usage of Chester cheese so you can experiment yourself. Let me know in the comments how it goes 🙂
